Our relationship with the Government of Canada commenced in
December of 1986 as a trial program for private sector alternate service
delivery for airborne maritime surveillance.
In 1989, Canada retired it's fleet of military Tracker
aircraft, forcing other Canadian Government departments to turn to industry for
a turn-key solution. Provincial was awarded Canada's first surveillance
contract in 1989, and has subsequently built a long term relationship.
Today we perform contract missions for various Canadian Government
Departments utilizing 3 fully equipped surveillance King Air 200 aircraft at an
average annual utilization of 5,000 hours per year. The relationship is a
turn-key service whereby Provincial owns, operates and maintains the assets and
a Government representative participates in the actual mission.
Our missions are performed for various Government
departments including Fisheries and Oceans, Department of National Defence,
Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Atmospheric Environment Service.
