Canada is a world leader in the contracting of its maritime surveillance requirements utilizing military technology These operations are a cost-effective way to increase surveillance contributing to an increase in maritime domain awareness and security of a nation’s critical approaches.
Provincial Aerospace provides a turnkey service to the Government of Canada, through the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, flying four Beechcraft Super King Air 200 aircraft in special missions configuration. The program provides enforcement presence on the Atlantic, Pacific and Northern coasts, and provides information for government programs including:
- Fisheries enforcement.
- Search and assist
- Sovereignty
- Pollution detection and monitoring
- Smuggling and illegal immigration
Our program for the Government of Canada has the highest utilization of aircraft (measured in hours) of any special mission program in the world, far exceeding the industry average, and replacing a former military program for the Government of Canada – a cost effective way of domestic enforcement and a more proper use of assets.
